Jackie Gaytan and I made a special trip out to visit Champaign, IL specifically to visit one of our favorite stores. Urban Outfitters has always been known for their powerful and innovative displays. Urban Outfitters to me is the definition of beautiful chaos. Stepping into these stores is like stepping into a whole new way of thinking. Urban does a phenomenal job of relying this through their displays.

Urban Outfitters doesn’t solely promote their clothing, they promote a way of life. This display in particular is focused on the music scene. In the first picture of the display there are vintage record players displayed on different levels. This part of the display holds emphasis on a player that was on the highest level and also had a bright yellow lid. The signage read “SUB POP.” The meaning I took from this signage was that they were refering to music that is not popular or underground….which would go hand in hand with Urban’s brand style. Very unique.

The first thing I noticed in the last photo was the black and white abstract photo in the middle of the dispplay. I loved how they strung fasteners to colored yarn in order to create a movement from the first pair of mannequins on the left to the next two on the right.

  1. This display is so perfect in reflecting the brand’s personality. It is urban, eclectic, young, and unique. Customers will love the bight colors and fun prints on both the clothing and the decorations.
